Wow it seems like ages since I posted here and indeed it must have been a few weeks.
Basically the start of my creative drought with photos began when the weather went to grey days. The kind of weather that is neither wet nor dry. Just gentle rain but I found it hard to be motivated to shoot in such conditions. There was also some holidays to take which meant I did not shoot street photos. What happened then is basically I got out of the routine and habit of shooting every day and I realized that I needed a break from it. Creatively I was running low on energy. Those grey days killed it completely and by then I enjoyed the break from it. It began to feel like a chore to get back into it which means there is no spark to do it as good as I can. So hopefully you get the gist of why I disappeared. Without having fun there was little point. There are other factors as well but I need to keep this brief. I shot an event for someone I met through street shooting and basically processing those also meant I did not feel I had the time to shoot street shots yet. I needed a break from it though anyway.

I have been shooting a fair amount of Red Deer and it is about time that I posted some so here are some recent ones shot locally on the southern borders of Cannock Chase.

Excellent captures. Especially like the deer eating from the tree.
Thanks for sharing,

Yes I need to get more.

The momentum was stopped after they cut the grass. It is understandable because it was very long but all the same it was such a disruption to the deer and they kind of disappeared for a while.
Hopefully get more deer soon. Fingers crossed.

Have the grass and the deer returned yet?
:)

The grass did grow back very quickly just weeks later actually. It was growing back yes to be honest but I suspect the deer were pretty badly shook up and shy for a while. We will never know exactly how it affects the deer behaviour from such massive attacking their habitat. It was a difficult situation , to be fair, so a good solution likely does not exist.

The way the year panned out again was like other years. I can think there will be ample opportunities to get to the area but for various reasons it did not happen very often. The weather on week ends and illness and weather during the rutting season.

There are red deer right near where I live but the amount of times I see them over a year is less than 5 times or something. There was a flurry of sightings over a 5 week period on 3 Sundays out of 5 weeks in a field at the same time on the evening. After that 3rd sighting I never again saw them this year in the field. I am guilty of not putting enough effort into it if I am honest too. Maybe one could say a trip every weekend at 4 am might yield a lot more opportunities.
I need to try and capture some local foxes somehow. Again , I need to show more effort and commitment to it otherwise I will never capture a decent fox shot even though there are a lot in the area.
