The Pelican and the Great Thick-knee are impressive as it is but the Shoebill is just unreal! The bird is like a live cartoon character.

It was the bird we most wanted to see in Uganda and expected it to be quite hard to see but we went on a canoe trip almost outside the airport perimeter and hit lucky.

There is a famous video of one moving a duck which gives an idea of scale. It’s one big bill!
There are at least stills at this link Ang Google will show some amusing videos of them in zoos.

Just looked up some footage via youtube as I'm very curious now.
 
Excellent work and shots. Only on the net do I get to see these. Pretty darn special.
