Thought I'd start a new thread over here, since I have a few to share from Holland earlier this month, I hope you like them!

Looks fast. What cruising speed might that be?
Between cities the Shinkansen travels at max operating speeds of 320km/h. But once it reaches any station/stop in a major metro area speeds are drastically reduced for safety, as well as practical reasons.

Lan, those are some beautiful trains you posted but the lands they travel over are beautiful, too.

I have a question for you: in this thread are boats and ships included? :geek:

I'm hopeful to contribute something, but there's not much happening here. I'll keep trying though...

Lightly used (no kidding) rail, along the Pacific Coast, outside Davenport California.

Thanks Lan for starting this thread!

Here's my first contribution. This is a Pacific National grain consist, train number 3924, being hauled by locomotives 8158 and 8211. They are seen here on the cross-country line between the main south line and the south coast line, heading for the port.

This is one of the busiest local trains in the Tokyo Metro area. It is a north-south train line in 3 prefectures. The colors of this train would be blue and silver were it not for my choice to render it in B&W.
