200-600mm with Teleconverter 1.4x ??

I haven't seen any with the Alpha 1. It's not great at long distance, but for subjects that aren't too far away the loss of quality is manageable. It's there, but a little extra sharpening outside Lightroom makes the images usable. I'm not sure at what distance it deteriorates badly, but I've got (or had before tossing them) several hundred images of Sandhill Cranes in flight that are far enough away that they were junk. Of course, they were too far not to be junk WITHOUT the 1.4X, so either way they were TOO FAR AWAY!

I'd say try one and see if you like the results.
 
I have used it with a few different Sony cameras and have had no issue. I am impressed with the IQ using the TC.
