Anyone here use the Metal %234 Hood on a 50mm and RX

I wanted to know if its to big and heavy. I saw a pic of it and looks kind of big. I want the metal one so I can further protect my lens.
 
Yes, it is big. Diameter about 90mm, length about 40mm. Weight is no problem. Finish is very good. I personally don't like to use it with a 50mm lens. But with the 1.4/85mm, it is fine. On the Planar, I use the G11 rubber shade.
