Wow! Typically those cobblers look like they’re at least 50 to 60 years old.

It’s sad but true. These types of jobs seem to belong in the past now.

Generative fill? Decline of photography?

Maybe it's not photography but rather image making instead. If nothing else it's a very useful tool (when it works) to deal with some of the common issues that crop up in photography.
 
There's a bit of a scale mismatch here, unless the people in the background are giants and that is a 2L water bottle :giggle:
Hmmm, those are the original bits. Must be glitches in the matrix. Reality is so weird! :cool:

I agree AI can be useful as you say, and I suppose AI can be used for good and for bad. I do think it has the potential to further blur the authenticity of images meant to be documentary. I guess this isn't a new issue, since about 1982 when National Geographic moved two pyramids closer together so they'd better fit the cover. And no doubt many interesting photo manipulations before that. :)
