Oaxaca is the capital of the state of Oaxaca, in Mexico. It has been a cultural heritage of humanity since 1987. The inhabitants of Oaxaca are proud of their city and their traditions, which they preserve at all costs. In order to preserve its colonial character neon signs and other large advertisements are prohibited. As an anecdote, the Oaxacan painter Fransisco Toledo (1940-2019), upon learning of the establishment of a McDonald's in the downtown area of the city, created an opposition movement to its establishment in 2002, forcing it to settle on the edges of the city.

If you ever come to Mexico, be sure to visit Oaxaca, you won't regret it!
