A couple of years ago the batteries in my regular 167 MT batterie holder leaked and damaged the batterie contacts. Now electricity comes on and of just as it likes. Can I solve this problem by buying a P5 batterie holder? I ask this because I don't know if the P5 uses the contacts of the regular batterie holder or if the regular holder can be removed and the P5 will be put in its place instead.
 
The p-5 AA battery holder uses the two contacts that are next to each other slightly off the centre line, thru the lens, of the camera. it should be possible to clean these up using a fine emery board that ladies use to

see to their nails. i chew mine!. its a good add-on as it brings the tripod bush central and, i think, improves the balance of the camera.
