Contax N Mount 50/1.4 Battery Drain

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that their 50/1.4 N mount lens just destroys camera battery life. No other N lens does this to my ND, but this lens can kill a set of batteries about 3 times faster than any other lens I have, including the 85mm with the big glass.

Could it be the lens itself has a problem? Any insights would be terrific.

I have it and I have never notice the problem. The true is, ND itself eats battery like crazy. So I would never know. I bet the 50/1.4 lens should be very insignificant. Perhaps it is the battery that you are using, or the temperature, charger affect the battery life. With the ND, you just never know.
 
Albert- Thank you for the note. I am actually well aware of the ND's battery hunger as I use it with every N lens. The 50/1.4 is unique, however, in that it just rips through the batteries unlike any other lens. The big 85mm, 100mm, and 70-300mm lenses last 3 to 5 times as long on a full set of 2500 mAH batteries.

Very bizarre.
