Hi, just joined the forums. I hope their are other N series users on the forum. My question regards a Contax NX. Is it possible to fire studio flash with this camera in its original form?.

Well, there are a few die hard N series users about.... but it's quiet here..... Yes the NX has a sync socket on the lower left hand side of the camera... so a cord to a studio flash can be connected.
I am now looking forward to the arrival of my NX, the 24-85 looks beautiful. I have a very capable digital camera in the form of the EOS 550d but still yearn for the days of Velvia 50 and FP4 so have invested in the NX and lens and also the Fuji GX680, unfortunately the latter has yet to produce satisfactorily sharp results I think this is probably due to my 67 year old eyes coupled to a less than wonderful viewfinder, still I'll see how it progresses, in my normal non look before you leap mode I was actually wanting to replace the wonderful Bronica ETRSi I had a few years ago and have ended up with a camera that almost needs to be horse drawn but has a fine reputation for studio and landscape photography although how you carry it more than a few yards from some form of transport escapes me.I just got an NX as well, came free with a 50mm lens.... not actually used it yet. Don't believe any of them are bad, but they are film cameras from a past era. I had the RX for many years previously, sold it all after I moved to the N series several years ago... No regrets.
Shame they gave up, I guess the digital race was just to expensive to compete in.
Enjoy the NX, the 24-85 is great lens.
