Data Back - how does it work?

Hi,

I'm happy to be a new contax-user since I bought my RX via ebay. Unfortunately it came without manual. Most of what I needed to know for the beginning could be found at http://www.contaxinfo.com/broshures/RX/FrameSet.htm
...but I can't see any effect of my "Data Back" on the negs. Shouldn't it write the date I set in the little screen to the film somewhere?

How can it be found?

Would be glad to get some hint...

It imprints between the frames, not in them. You wont see it in your prints, omly on the negs.

So it wouldn't be of much use if you were shooting transparencies?
