Eastern Pond Hawk

This Dragonfly is well camouflaged when it perches in green vegetation. I saw this one land and it was still difficult to locate it as it blends in so well. This early in the season the Male and Females are difficult to distinguish but as the season moves on the Males change from a green body to blue with just a green face.

Beautiful shot Joe. Nicely taken.

Danny.

Looks can be very deceiving with these fast flying insects, such shots are usually much harder than it looks. Well done.

Thank You. Most of my Dragonfly shots are when they are stationary. I have a very hard time getting any of them if flight.

Even when stationary they usually dont sit down for very long, times when I tried capturing stationary specimens I had a hard time capturing a few sharp ones.
