After a long, hot and very dry summer (we're still needing rain) there wasn't much expectation of any fall color this year. Even normally, we're pretty muted compared to places that get Real Fall Color™. This year is even less, with what we have peaking late and starting to drop off soon.
Yesterday I drove over to a local recreation area. There was nice dappled sunlight on the way, which -- of course -- turned to grey overcast once I arrived. I took a few shots and wasn't really excited about anything I captured, but the first shot below turned out much better than I expected. The second one was shot this morning at a small lake in a local wildlife management area.
Thanks.
