I attended an amateur astronomy event last week in rural south Mississippi. And as not infrequently happens, there were only a couple of clear nights, the rest being cloudy and / or rainy. But there were a couple of mornings with fog so I wandered about the place looking for victims... 
Compared to where I live (~180 miles west in Louisiana) the color was more colorful, but it's typical of what we get. Not always dead-brown, but never like Vermont nor Colorado. The biggest difference in this area vs. my home is here there are deciduous trees, while at home we mostly have coniferous "nevergreens".
