G2 45mm Lens Cap Glue Problem

Not a great problem but the silver round "Contax" plate has become loose from plastic body. The glue seems like rubber cement in that it doesn't really dry. Had unit for two years. Is this the way the cap was made or did the previous owner add the rubber-type cement? Any suggestion what I should use in re-gluing this critter. Must be very careful not to glue movable parts under silver plate that you press to lock cap on lens. Phil

I read this post with a great delay. I had exactly the same problem. How did yu solve it?
