Into the Wind

A backyard shot. Moderate winds the other day in the range of 25-35 MPH (40-55 km/h). I saw this tug a ways out... pulling a fuel barge. 400mm FL, f/7.1 @ 1/800 sec ISO 400. Distance to subject is probably around 3 or 4 miles (roughly 5 or 6 km). Lots of air to drill through. The 80-400G is a versatile lens (great for train shooting) and also good at the 80mm wide end.

That's an impressive shot John given the distance and atmospherics you were dealing with.

And that seems like a very long wire/chain between the tug and the barge!
