Hi,

My suggestion is that ”we” create a thread which contains the different lists of lens- and body-evolutions.
The info is already available in the forum at numerous threads but they are not always easy to follow or to find.
And when questions regarding lens/body models pop up we can politely advice to this lists.

I don’t know if this should be in a sub-forum or just in a thread.
But is should be at the top, easily found and locked so it won’t be filled with irrelevant posts.

Best regards,
- Olof

I suppose you think of a post that is registered as a "sticky"

The V series system is quite large and holds numerous changes for lenses, bodies and accessoiries.
It will be like writing a new compendium, something I gladly leave in the capable hands of Rick Nordin.

As far as I know just the 1600F body holds at least 4 upgrades all of these are important for the functionality of that camera.
The camera we know as 1600F is actually called Hasselblad.

I wrote a survey about lenses because the question about which lens comes up from about every newly registered user.
Including the lenses for the early cameras there are 15 different 80 mm lenses.
Too much to fit in a special post as far as I am concerned.

Hello Olof,

Today I used my 120CB lens.
That lens has been lying idle for too long.

It reminded me of the confusing matter CB lenses are:

The 60 mm CB is optically the same lens as the later CFi version.

The 80 mm CB is a different design with only six elements against seven for the later 80 mm Planars.
Despite that fact many owners of the six element lens are perfectly happy with their CB version.

The 120 CB is a rare beast.
This lens was only produced in small numbers and marketed in North America and Asia.
The 120 CB was never offered for sale in Europe.
Optically the lens is the same as the CF version.
Because the lens elements are fitted in a CF E/i style lens barrel the lens performs as the later CFE/i versions.

The 160 CB is not a Sonnar but a Tessar design.
That explains the results that are less good compared to the 150 Sonnar if used not stopped down.

I take it you forgive me for not describing what happened to the other fabulous Carl Zeiss designs for Hasselblad.
Better wait for Rick Nordins new compendium. ;)

Yes, I'm waiting for Richard Nordins next release av his "Compendium".

Thanks for the pictures of the CB120. As there are no pictures in the "Compendium" on this lens.

Regards,
- Olof

Gary Ayton (an Aussie) has a pretty good resource on his website. Just google Ayton and Hasselblad

The best and most reliable source for information is Rick Nordins Hasselblad Compendium.
I am proud to say after that comes the information that can be found at this forum.

Gary Aytons site is neither complete nor up to date regarding Hasselblad V series cameras and lenses.
