I knew that if I was patient he'd come back, and he came closer to the house than he ever has. I'm sure he's glad he did because this is the only berry tree in the yard. We call it the woodpecker tree because they love stashing things in the trunk. I felt bad that he got into and stole the entire Downey woodpecker's stash, though. Now to catch up with the female, but she wakes up way earlier than I like to.
