These two people in a gallery in the Palais Royal seem more interested in their phones than in their surroundings. Having sprained my ankle in similar circumstances, I would tend to urge them to be cautious ;)

Thank you RBIV, but let us be franck: don't you ever look at your phone while walking? I know I do...

Well, unfortunately given my poor close up vision to look at my small cell phone screen means... I have to stop, find the reading glasses, put them on, and then read the screen. So, if the phone chimes, I can do the "walk n talk" part, but not the "walk n text or look at the screen part," especially if I am carrying a camera without a strap -- which is often.

I don't know about RBIV but I don't. I did watch a young woman playing with her phone walk into a man in a wheelchair and then complain that he didn't get out of the way. I also watched from my balcony as a young man riding down the street on a bicycle was texting. I'm mostly deaf so phone calls aren't an issue but notifications for text messages and emails can wait till I stop moving.
