P

picturetaker

I got again a roll of film were 30% of the pictures are crap. Many pictures i took are aut of focus, most are focus behind the subject.
So what shoul i doo ?
I did send the Camera G1 and 90mm lens to the Customer service wehre the fixt the problem.
Now the fcocus problem is here again.
I cant see any low battery warning.
I did get the focus confirmation.
what should i do to get fuking reliable focus with the G1 and 35mm,90mm lenses. Are there any idias to solve the problem without sending the G1 and lenses to Contax ?
Thank you for your help.

I can appreciate your frustrations; however, I would respectfully request that you keep your foul language off the postings. There is absolutely no necessity to include such obscenities in your postings

Did I ?
I am really sorry, I did not mean to Insult anyone.
Sorry

I'll tell you what I found out a lot of G2 useres forget about...........If the focusing mark is not exactly on the subject, the picture comes out lousy.

I could confirm this ; the G2 focus is very accurate if you pay attention to what you are focussing to !! this is not like a "smart" multi-zone AF system.
I assume that you have the same problem with your G1.

Igot the G2 excelen workin; after it has been by Contax-service adjustet.
Now the G1 is not working anymore.

I have recently read that there is a "problem with the 90mm lens focusing on the G1. I have used mine for over a year with no problems. Am I just lucky or is this a problem that can appear at any time?

thanks,
Tom

I just had this problem for the first time with my G2, although it was not only the 90mm lens, it was the 45mm and 28mm as well. The camera apparently didn't focus on anything sharply. At the time I was shooting, I did experience the camera "hunting" for focus with the shutter not firing for a second or two, then operating as though focus had been achieved. What's especially frustrating is that the problem was intermittent. I'm getting ready to send everything to Contax in New Jersey USA, along with s&le slides. Has anyone experienced the problem the way I have? Was there a fix? Also, those of you who have had G2's serviced in New Jersey, were you satisified?

Many thanks.

Rob

Rob:

Although I have not had that problem, if I did I would check to see if there was any difference if focus settings; caf, saf, and manual. I would check to make sure all of the focus windows on the front of the camera are clean. I would also try some fresh batteries. Also, I would consider under what lighting conditions did these exposures occur? Similar gray area, difficult situations to focus, slow speed exposures, unsteady, etc.

Regards

Gilbert
