Provence in June

Guest

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to hear from any of you who might have some tips on good spots to photograph in the Provence. Of course there's the lavender fields, but what else is spectacular to shoot? Would love to hear your stories.

Lisa.

Hej Lisa
In provence you find the great lakes (lac du Saint Croix) in the mountains, and the Verdun Canyon which is the biggest in Europe. By the cost I like St. Tropez a lot, but Marsaille should be a bit risky.

I have som photos from a trip round france in a mobilhome. The last part of them is from provence and the places I mentioned above. The adresse is http://atomb.dk/fr2001.htm

Ole

Hi Lisa,

Go there and shoot - think of 2 or 3 rolls of slide film (36 frames) per day.
I hd been there in summer, in late summer and in winter and I can tell you that there are a lot of things to photograph - landscape, plants, people, historic buildings (Roman, medieval), towns and villages. Visit Avignon, Orange, Vaison, Aix, Apt, L'Isle sur Sorgue, Marseille, Toulon, Arles, Canon du Verdon, Nice, Antibes, ... And do not forget to mount the Mont Ventoux (stay there overnight and watch the stars in the sky and the lights deep below you!
By the way - how many weeks have you to stay there?
Greetings from Vienna,

Hi Lisa
Try having a look at this site

http://www.provencebeyond.com/

I usually use it as a reference for
organizing my trips...
I have been mainly along the coast
(have a look at Eze!)
Depending on the season, you can find not
only lavender fields, but also
rose and Jasmine fields!
Hope this helps
Paolo

Thanks everyone. Sounds like I have lots to look forward to. Thanks Ole for sharing your holiday snaps - looks as though your family had loads of fun, the pictures are wonderful.
Paolo, I'll use the website you recommended as a guide. Fingers crossed, I'll have plenty of fields of flowers to photograph in June.

Cheers,
Lisa.
