Questions on Specific Features Nikon D200

I don't have my manual handy ... and need how to access two features:

1 - A histogram on the D200
2 - How to tell the camera NOT to reset the counter back to 1 for building the file names for the photos everytime I put a new compact flash card into the camera. I want to continue the counter ... forever ...

Thanks,

Michael.

Ole Bo Jensen!

Thanks so much. One other question regards print quality. While my print images are very sharp, I feel like the images to the screen are a bit soft. Any comments?

This image was changed in Adobe and set at 85% quality and saved for web format. Slight crop.

Thanks,

Michael.

Yes, I agree about the post processing work required. I have the same problems with my Contax ND also. I think it is a "digital thing".

Do you use Adobe or RGB for your color space? I've been using the Adobe setting. I took a quick look, and did not find where I can set the "in camera sharpening". I'll have to get the manual out.

My only problem w/ using the "in camera sharpening" is that I use Genuine Fractals to blow up the images for prints 2x3 feet in size. It warns against using any sharpening ... or artifacts are created. I'll have to experiment.

I am testing the "Vivid" setting to reduce the mutness of the color pallete and also have turned on the Noise Reduction feature for higher ISO settings.

Any other advice?

Thanks,

Michael.

I also went and turned on the auto number sequence. But it looks like you can not give it a starting number? Am I wrong?

Thanks,

Michael.
