Recommendation Remotes RM1 and Cable Release

Can anyone recommend either the RM-1 remote or the RM-CB1 cable release for the E-1, based upon your experiences.

I notice that some of the sites suggest that the RM-1 is not capatible with the E-1, but the manual specifically talks to using the RM-1 for remote shooting.
