Replacing the felt in a lens cap

G

Guest

I need to replace the felt in my Summarit 5cm f1.5's cap. Has any one done this? Where did you find suitable felt? The acrylic stuff in the local fabric store looks to thick? Has any one tried Velvet? I have some excellent craft fabric glue that is thin and will hold to the cap so the gluing won't be a problem. I'm not to worried about the Marron color but that would be nice.

Thanks Mark W

Go to a craft store and buy a 8 1/2 X 11" sheet of l& base felt. It's nice and thin, and has stickum on the back via a pull-off plastic. Costs about a buck. It's enough to do 82 lens caps, three light seals on old cameras, and one l& base.
