When you look up in the Salle Richelieu, you see a magnificent crystal chandelier weighing over two tons.

If you turn your gaze towards the stage, you see the set of the play that is about to be performed or rehearsed. The stage is sloped to give an impression of depth and perspective. This requires the construction of special furniture with legs of different sizes.

So what happens when an actor is supposed to swivel a chair? Fortunately, the inclination of the stage is not steep enough for the actor to become unbalanced.

Having reached the end of this series of short articles, I would like to thank the Comédie-Française's Audience Relations Department for their help.
