Stanwell Tops

Beautiful view and Excellent IQ with your camera/lens combo. Nice framing, too! I like the curved bridge in the distance.

Thanks John.

The bridge replaced the original road that was on the edge of the escarpment, but there were often rock falls after heavy rain forcing the road to be closed. So they eventually moved the road off the side of the hills with this new bridge. It's a fun drive along the coast there.

Crazy ? that depends. I flew a paraglider for 10 years... stanwell park was a lovely place to fly, though on a good day it is so busy it needs its own air traffic control. A magical, quiet late afternoon 1500m over Centennial Glen, west of Blackheath, and yes that is me up there.

Beautiful spot.

I lived at Blackheath for a few years (many decades ago) and when I visit the mountants occasionally I will drive out to Mount Blackheath to grab a few photos from the lookout. On one of my visits the paragliders were all out and I had trouble finding somewhere to park!! It was like Pitt Street.

This shot was taken on a quieter day, 2nd November 2023.

... Flying a "cloud street" - chasing clouds at 2300m ... it's quite difficult to manage a camera and fly simultaneously but I did take a few. Pity I didn't have a haze filter...
