Studio Flash with Contax

G

Guest

Hello All,

Are there any precautions that should be observed when using RX or RTS III with sync cord and studio flash? I have heard that the high feed-back voltages that come back from the flash can damage some cameras. If this is a problem, is it more of a problem with some brands of studio flash? It seems as though I heard about a device that can be installed at the sync terminal on the camera, before the sync cord is installed?

thanks,
Ron in NM

Wein Safe Synch is usually recommended by most dealers when in doubt about the synch voltage.

I have been using the Speedotron 2400w and Norman power packs for my N1 and C645 without any problem. Although I have great concern everytime when I hook up the sync code. I guess the $60 or so Wein Safe Sync worths the insurance.

I work since 10 years with Multiblitz equipment (WITH RTSIII& C645)- = never had any problems.

If you don't like the sync cord you can use a IR contoller (mount on = the camera flash shoe) with the most studio flashes.
