Nice pictures. I particularly liked the toning. Did you do that in Photoshop? What 'formula' did you use?

Have you had yet a chance to compare the D60 with the new 1Ds?

Where do you see limitations between the D60 and shooting slides (velvia and provia 100f) and scanning it with a Nikon 4000dpi?

WHITE BALANCE
The instructions tell you to take a normal photo of a white subject,then select it in the menu then set camera to custom white balance. My problem is the photo that I use always turns out green.What am I doing wrong?? I' am set to 100 asa and partial metering. I'm using 3soft domes to light up a product on a white background.

Please tell us more. Is it green on the screen or just when you print? Is your monitor calibrated? Are you taking the photo in RAW mode? Converted using what? My suggestion would be to use the Level tool in Photoshop and set the white point using the background of your photo.

Thanks for the response. I am in RAW mode shooting a small very light grey product on a white bacground.Using a tripod.When I take the custom white balance photo of the background it looks green on the D60 LCD. Also the shot looks a little blurry. I use the Photoshop 7.01 plug in to view the RAW photo file. The instruction manual says to take a normal photo in a normal way and use it for custom white balance.I' using 3 Starlight 1000 watt soft domes to light up the product. This may be too much because I'm losing some surface details of the logo. These are incandescant lights. How should I set up for this initial photo of the background for the custom white balance??
