Wailing Widow Falls, Assynt in NW Scotland. The main falls are 50ft/ 15m high and there is usually a great deal of water falling but on this occasion only a trickle. Taken April this year on a cold, wet and windy day from the top of the gorge. It is easy to get to this location stepping stones across the burn at the top and walk along the edge of the gorge. I have climbed up from the bottom on previous visits and that is not difficult but a touch dangerous. The first shot gives you an overview.
The second gives a zoomed in partial view. Next visit I will bring my 100-400 and really explore all of the parts of the falls.
The first image is actually 9 images mean merged together to produce a longer exposure, this allowed me to wipe the front element if the lens between shots and reject any images that had raindrops spoiling the image. Comments welcome. Ken
