Which filter for what

I jsut bought a uv filter for my contax t3. The paper insert mentions that is is used for B & W
photography. I will be using color and I want to cut the haze and protect the lens.
Thanks fo any info.
 
I also have a T3 with the UV filter. I keep it on all the time and color shots are fine too. I think the general consensus is that a UV filter is fine to keep on your lens permanently as protection as well as for filtration purposes, as long as it's of high quality. Contax multicoated filters are fine. I believe Heliopan produces a well-regarded line of 30.5mm filters.
