This is the XPT waiting to depart from platform 5 at Sydney's Central Station. The train is headed to Grafton, a regional town on the New South Wales north coast. This train departs daily at 11:40am and arrives at its destination at 10:15pm.

Central Station has 26 platforms, 22 above ground and 4 subway platforms. Of the 22 above ground platforms, 12 are terminating platforms and 10 are 'through' island platforms.

Cool. I like the wide angle! Also, nice job with the verticals at the periphery (buildings).

A very nice image , also with the verticals and especially also for the train lover . I looked GRAFTON up in GOOGLE EARTH . Could not see the train ;)

And... the deep long line looking back down the platform. Really cool and a great feel to it.
