80400 VR lens with tc201

Has anyone used the 80-400 vr lens with a tc201 or tc14a teleconverter? Does it cause you to lose the matrix color setting? How much does it degrade the image at maximum focal length? Assuming all other factors are ideal circumstances ie; sturdy tripod, good light, manual focus, etc.

Is there a review site that anyone can point me toward? I have seen this site...
http://www.outbackphoto.com/reviews/equipment/Nikon_VR_80_400/Nikon_VR_80_400_TC_14A.html

Do you know of a more recent or complete review?

Thanks
Scott

What about using it with the Kenko 1.4x Pro telecoverter? This way AF is maintained as well as metering functions. So far my limited use of the 1.4x renders very good results which I cannot tell the differnce on 35mm slides (provia) against using a Nikkor teleconverter.
