Dear members,
a lot changed over the last 6-8 weeks at DPRforum.com (DPRF). And we did not do this alone. We did it with you together in two different phases.
So what happened over the last 8 weeks at DPRF in this first and second phase of restructuring?
Now we are heading the third phase of the restructuring. This will be our review section. When we introduced that section last year, we had no time to fine tune it. Because of the announced closure of dpreview, speed was more important then details, planning or foresight.
This is now different. We have time to think about "the right way" to do reviews.
The need for reviews and what should be included/offered, who is doing what etc. changed over the time the same way how cameras and lenses changed over the time. We are living in a different world than 20 years ago, with different needs and different opportunities. It does not make sense to do it the same way as 25 years ago.
So we are open for all kind of ideas how YOU would like to have reviews. Whether you think reviews are needed at all nowadays, whether it needs to be YouTube reviews only or in combination with written reviews, whether you prefer podcast or only real experience reports by our members or a combination.
We will do for this a survey soon and will also talk at the same time with different contacts in the photo industry and well known YouTube reviewers. We will ask, listen and then think about the best compromise for DPRF. So stay tuned for the survey.
This is the chance for you to get what YOU want to have.
But you do not need to wait for the survey. You can help us already now by writing us an email what comes in your mind regarding gear reviews. What kind of reviews would you like to see? as shorta s possible, as detailed as possible, printed, youtube, podcast, what shall be looked for in a review? etc. pp.
You can write one line only or an essay. Write what and how much you want to and send it to this address: feedback at dprforum dot com
So, get up use your Smartphone or PC and write an email!
Thank you for your support

So what happened over the last 8 weeks at DPRF in this first and second phase of restructuring?
- We upgraded the forum software
- we installed a new addon for the future photo challenges
- we invited the 100 most active members to discuss ideas for future changes in a "VIP-PM-Group"
- as a result we restructured all subforums and made a new order
- as a result we introduced new features in the member portfolio section
- as a result we added the list view of photos within a thread
- as a result we introduced new benefits for Patrons of DPRF
