B&W Images here.....

Wow Gary! What a great effect - huge impact. That extreme angle and use of the patterned sky is terrific. :)

Can't remember if I might have posted these images here before....but I don't see them in the B&W images thread, so here goes....

I think these are all the pertinent details: Hasselblad 501CM, 80mm CFE Planar, Ilford Delta 100, Epson V750Pro scan.

Dawson City, Yukon Territory....lots of interesting historic buildings there. A really neat town....dirt streets, wooden boardwalks, not too many tourists.

I've made some beautiful prints from these images recently. Planning to use them in an upcoming print exchange.

Wonderful work Gary. Lovely historic images too!

Are you happy with the Epson 750 scanner?

Cheers.

Thanks Simon. There are lots of interesting buildings to shoot in Dawson City and the Hasselblad performed superbly, as expected. :)

I've been very happy with the V750 scanner. Scans from it are a subtle, but noticeable improvement over the Epson 2450 I used before this (for medium and large format film). I'm sure if I had an Imacon scanner to compare it with, my view of the V750 would be different....but all things considered (including the price, of course) the V750 works very well.

One more from the Ship Creek Alaska Railroad yards. 501CM and the 50mm Distagon.

I hope I don't look this bad when I'm finally "Retired". :)

Jurgen,

Of course, you are right....we will all be as run down and "out of service" as my poor Retired rail car and your fascinating mirror image before too long. I had hopes of retiring before that day arrived, but alas, it seems but a distant dream now. I blame it all on Hasselblad.....if I hadn't developed such a strong desire for Hasselblad cameras and Zeiss optics (dare I admit, a LUST for these items?), I might today have enough money in the bank to retire before I reach such a decrepit, old condition. Instead of a life of leisue, I have achieved my life long dream of owning the finest photographic equipment (both Hasselblad and now Leica too)...so I will be working, working, working for many years to come.

Here is a black and white image that I had previously only thought of in full technicolor....some of you may recognize it.

From my wonderful Hasselblad 501CM....taken in Dawson City, Yukon Territory, Canada.
