Compact tripod suggestions

Dear Dana,

They are all pretty good. There are valid subtle differences however. Personally I would go for an M2 above 1 000 XXX, however depending on how price conscious you are, the M4-2 and M4P are great value as the collectors are not so keen on them.

Have fun.

Justin

> Dana - you have aspirations to be a star? A Leica M is a great choice. Go for M3 or M2, in best possible condition. These are exquisitely made cameras, and you can use a handheld meter. Check all shutter speeds are guaranteed accurate, as well as rangefinder. To go with it, may I recommend the rigid 5cm Summicron? Again, get the best condition one you can afford. You might like to check out www.photovillage.com in NYC, www.leicashop.com in Vienna, or www.theclassiccamera.com in the UK. Good luck!

Dana; Further to David's suggestion, I endorse everything he has added but suggest if you buy in Vienna reserve the right to return if not acceptable. I have only bought one supposedly mint item and found it to be very much used. I visited the shop last August and found the merchandise not to my standard. I suspect the good quality items are reserved for their auctions. Caveat Emptor. Justin.

Hi Justin

Chris & I met today to exchange hobby notes. On the M2 as recommended by you - can you recommend me a reliable used dealer in Australia I can contact - to purchase one.

Thanks and best regards

> [Hi David

Thanks for this information - when was the last time you visited Singapore? Believe the store you are referring to is no longer in business. I shall be contacting the NZ stores for that bushing.

Best Regards

Joseph Low

Hello Joseph,

I think it more diplomatic to answer your question 'off-Forum'.

Sincerely,

Justin
