the lens is great, most of my photo taking from this lens is stunningly sharp. However, when I open the F to 1.4, the colour seem to be very dull, not as vivid like other photo....any advise on how to adjust this, do we need to conpensate the shutter speed so that the colour could be more vivid?

I just bought the 50mm, first thing I noticed was it was very guick to auto focus, and I had a very bright viewfinder, the manual focus was very smooth, the aperture ring was perfect,I will compare it to the 24/85 and let you know because the 24/85 also had very high marks at 50mm,this lens feels all quality,

I have the Contax NX and the 28/80 and find the lens to be wonderful in bright light conditions. I too am interested in the 50 1.4 because as nice as the zoom and macro is, living in New England with a 3.5 lens is not a practical choice. I would say that anyone who wants to shoot with 100 asa film or lower on a consistent level needs the 50 1.4. I am looking for one used. If anyone has one they want to sell, let me know.

Check out B&H ,there is a rebate going on with this lens.
