Well, it seems I'm stuck with what I have. I bought the back on eBay, not even thinking about a date limitation. It still needs to have new light seals installed and the date problem remains. I have an original Dealers Model RTS and at this point I don't want to invest any more on it.
I believe the back I have is digital, just from looking at the construction, but can't be sure. No idea what model it is, however.
