Interesting! Nice color/tones, too (wood and burlap bags). I get the idea (I think). I'm guessing the perimeter nails delineate a circular cut-line while the interior nails make the decorative pattern? With maybe a relatively light touch on the impression? When were you in Uzbekistan?
 
I think the user is free to apply the stamp wherever they want, apparently it is common to only cover part of the cookie, or use a smaller stamp in the center of a larger cookie.
I think these are also (and perhaps mainly) used to decorate the typical round bread.

I have made a trip from Kazachstan across Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan in September last year. I still have a pile of photos to process. I'll try to make a selection when I'm done, but in the meantime I can post the occasional teaser like this one :)
