Difference between MM serie and AE serie Zeiss Planar 1.4/50

AE Lenses cannot be used in MM mode. Mechanically speeking, there can be not problem with using an AE lens on a later model camera, or an MM lens on an older camera since the AE lenses simply lack a small flange that governs the aperture. Mister Koerner is mistaken.

Mario

Why am I mistaken? Read what the Poster before me suggested to get around the "problem" with the missing flange. He tries to trick the camera and I said if you do so, you might get wrong exposures.

So where am I wrong ?!

Mike

Mister Koerner deserves an apology. The poster before him is mistaken. AE LESES CANNOT IN ANY WAY BE USED AS MM LENSES. Sorry, Mike. Best,
Mario
