Dust in N Lenses

Hi guys, am new to this site. i've owned N 24-85 and 70-300 for about a year. there are dust particles in both lenses. i took them to the agent in singapore to have them cleaned up. they are not equiped and suggested that i send them to Japan. i got in touch with Kyocera Japan and they replied same day yesterday. They are apologetic about it and advise me to send to them for cleaning and service. one other point which i also found out the 24-85 creeps like crazy. i understood from the dealer that it was normal. But i ;earned that this is not true. The Contax thread has tons of useful information. Thanks a million. jc.

Hi everyone,

Regarding dust in lenses, this is normal. SOme lenses do act like vacuum-cleaners (for ex&le 70-300 canon lens). So, after some time expect to see dust inside regardless of manufacturer or the lens.

Might be a good idea to clean it with vacuum-cleaner anyway.
Some mechanic, working in foto-shop said that this is absolutely normal and some lenses are baing cleaned more often that the others, but almost every lens is being cleaned.

Brand new lenses should not have dust on the internal glass. Over time ALL lenses, no matter Zeiss, Leica, Nikon, Canon, Tamron ......, will gather dust inside. No lens for normal photography are dust proof, it's allways a way in for the dust. The only sort of lens which do not have this "problem" is lens with no focusing or apperture ring, and that is not many. I got a S-Biogon 60/5,6, one apperture and no focusing ring. This is not a lens for normal photgraphy but I use with my enlarger.
