E300 as an addition to my OM stable

I recently purchased a new E-300 EVOLT with a couple of the digital zooms and I really like it. I've never been a huge fan of AF, but it works OK, especially with the manual touch-up capability.

However I also discovered the OM-lens adapter and have been trying out my favorite Zuikos on the EVOLT and I just LOVE it! The camera handles so well with the older OM lenses - the 50 f1.2, 35 f2.0, the 90 Macro, even the 65-200 zoom. The lenses are old friends, and the image in the finder is nice and bright, even stopped down one or two clicks. I bet the E-1 is even better in this regard. Tonight I shot a bunch of pictures with the 50 f1.2 at f2, at ISO 800, and I have to say I am impressed. Sure there is shadow noise, sure there is some strange coloration artifacting in the details in near-shadow areas, but I got some nice low-light portraits by incandescent bulb, with really narrow depth of field, and I got to customize the white balance to my liking (something I could never do with film), and made some beautiful 5 X 7 prints of them. It's just a great camera, and with the incredible Zuiko lenses it is a dream come true for me. I wish I still had my old 21mm, I guess I'll have to think about getting another instead of the 11-22mm digital lens...

Cheers!

The other day I used my E-300 to photograph a couple of items for sale on ebay. I wasn't happy with either of my ZD zooms, so I put the OM adapter on and a 50mm 1.8 and it worked like a charm.
