A few days ago I visited a farmer who had made his hobby falconry his main job by flying a variety of largely, but not exclusively, native birds (of prey) for the benefit of photographers. As someone who normally photographs birds in the wild I was a little reluctant, but it turned out to be some of the best 3,5 hours spent photographing a variety of birds flying around very freely. Their only enticement to return to the falconer was the promise of food. Here are some of the results.
