FOCAL PLANE SHUTTER AND DIGITAL BACK

Hi
As far as i understand IMACONS webpages , a digital back can be attached to any HASSELBLAD Model (adapters required) but a a lens with central shutter is required .
Can anyone please tell me , why a central shutter is needed when using a digital back .

Because a central shutter exposes the entire frame at once, no matter what shutter speed.
