G1 WITH THE ZEISS 35 PLANAR

G

Guest

Hi,

I am new to the board (compliments on some really imformative posts)...

I have a G1 which I bought used with a 45 Planar and am considering buying a 35 Planar or 28 Biogen. In my readings I understand that some early G1 bodies need to be modified (software?) by the factory to use these lenses on autofocus.

How can I determine if my body needs this upgrade? The former owner had both a 28 and 35, does this imply that the body was of a later version and will work?

The serial number is 096013.

Thanks,

Dave
