I was wondering if DPRF was in Twitter, Facebook, Telegram?

We created accounts for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. But we have not decided yet on how to use them in the future.

We do not have a Telegram group. That makes no sense for us. Telegram is such a bad platform to run communities, if you want to preserve knowledge (even worse than Discord), that I would never open a TG or Discord channel for a photography community. It would be a waste of time to run such a community on these 2 platforms.

Why do you ask?

I’m on Telegram in various Groups. I hardly use Twitter or Facebook even though I am in Groups there or Google Geoups. I’m in the DPR Alumni Groups (Facebook and Google Groups) but I don’t post there. So far DPRF is where I’m posting, and the original DPR.

I joined DPRevived but so far no posting history there.

Thank you for taking the time to explain the situation.

Social Media will be for us something to broaden our communication channels to get a message about our forum/website out there, but not to create another community parallel to the forum here.

YouTube could be - in case we decide to do reviews - a channel on which our reviews could be published as a video. This video review could be then announced/communicated via Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and the forum.

Same if we would do only "written" reviews on out website.

But a decision regarding this is still far away. We have too much other things atm, we have to focus on first.

Thank you Dirk for the work you’re doing. And the others here, Moderators, thank you too. I didn’t know Camera Info was 2 decades old, I’ve heard of it but never connected until DPR’s announcement that it was closing.

Looking forward to the Future here.

CI is not really "closing". It was moved over here. That is something different. CI still "live" so to speak. Thanks to this move, nothing gets lost. All content, all users are still here. Nothing gets deleted. :daumenhoch-smilie:

This is different to what i.e. DPreview originally announced for April 10th. 2023 :teufel-grinsend-schwanz:

I meant DPR's announcement that DPR was closing. I didn't mean CI was closing. Sorry for the confusion.
