Just released Nikon D2X

Keith, you are really angry !!! Do not use your nerves for such discussions, it is not worth to do it. Better try to give me a good advice. I have F5, D2H and lenses 17-35, 28-70 and 80-200 all f2.8. I am very happy with my D2H, used it in some extremelly cold conditions in Siberia by -40 degrees Celsius (Baykal lake). It simply works and deliver perfect results. What I need is advice on DX lenses, do they deliver also better results with Nikon Digital Cameras (in comparison with lenses I mentioned) or you simply win the angle ???

Thanks in advance,

Jaka Skorjanc, Moscow

I don't know. I started out getting tired of the retoric going back and forth on this list. After a while I started to look forward to what Innocent was going to say next and how Larry and Keith were going to react. Innocent just pulls everybodys chain and then sits back and watches the fun. I haven't seen this much interest on any list for a long time. I must be on 15 to 20 different lists and if I hear one more person ask if anyone has experience with this or that lens or the old Nikon vs Canon crap I think I'll scream. All these lists have degenerated into people posting with no experience asking basic questions that are almost impossible to answer when they don't know sh*t about photography. I'm on Pro portrait lists where the members ask what a softbox is. At least the arguments here are done with more intelligent and informed photographers. So Larry and Keith stay angry and keep up the fight. It sure beats watching TV.

By the way Janez. Yes DX lenses do produce better results on digital bodies. That's why they were invented.

My earlier post didn¹t go through, and I thank God for that. Oh yes the D2X, it must be a great camera isn't it? Oh btw Nikon has brought out the Capture 4.2 as a free download, isn't that wonderful?

Have any of you seen the image of Kari Allen on CNN.com, siblings who murdered their parents. Terrible thing. Was that image shot with a Nikon or Canon? Keith, Paul what do you think? Cool down, I mean no offence, just wondering the level of insanity in America and in particular among certain photographers in this forum.

Dear Sirs

I am quite new to this forum. I am not and will not be pro but do not care. Could you please stop this? Like a bunch of kids that fight for a toy. If somebody starts clear flamewar, please ignore him/her, that's #1 internet rule especially on e-mail forum.

Dear Mr. Innocent, please, PLEASE, stop it. It is no fun to delete your stupid spam posts. Thanks.

Sorry for this harsh post but I am really fed up.

Regards

Persons, not to say gentlepeople. I believe this is my first post to this list. I come to learn and I come in peace. It seems there should be a list somewhere for flamers.

Much of this discussion reminds me that I and many, many more here are mere babes where photography is concerned, no matter how many years we have been "involved" with the medium or how expensive and vast our arsenals. It reminds me of the management adage that one may have XX years of growth and experience, or XX years repeating the same experience...

Equipment... The old golf analogy, I have personally seen persons spend thousands (More than on any Nikon) for clubs, only to discover themselves deeper in the woods, or that Tiger Woods could beat them blindfolded with a left-handed hockey stick.

So, let's take the equipment we have, regardless of brand, model, film, digital, whatever, and go make pictures. When we have nothing, NADA! more to gain from it, then let's return and humbly sit at the feet of the true masters... Are you listening, Aristotle Bolch?

This gabble has, indeed, gone on too far. It is suggested that anyone who posts criticisms or advice, must, in future, put up pictures illustrating their problem, or work, or suggestions.

I have to criticize anyone who complains about gabble. If I want to gabble I'm going to gabble. I'll even be posting a picture of me gabbling soon.

James there is a huge difference in gabble as you call it and someone outright whining - constructive rhetoric is one thing but trite attempts at posting just to hear or in this case see your own words is a total waste of server space. People buy a product to use it in most cases - but when you buy a product and are not happy - or in this case not knowledgeable enough to use said product - it shows a considerable lack of inspiration at the least. An artist does not buy a canvas and paint on it more than one time if it is not serving him well - that is not to say it does not serve other artist purposes who have learned the techniques it takes to make the medium flow with their work. There is not one ounce of substance to the post that has been coming to my mail from this guy!

Is there a moderator out there for this forum? If so, please exercise some authority and put a stop to this name calling and silly business. I signed on to read about cameras and photography, but the latest messages to be posted have been nothing but a waste of time, to put it politely. They have nothing at all to do with the subject matter (D2X).
