We almost didn't see this well-disguised least sandpiper rummaging around in the mud until he went into the water.

The smallest of all the shorebirds, we get a lot of them wintering on our South Carolina beaches...but they're not down here yet. They breed further north than Connecticut so that one is probably migrating through.

Terrific shots! I especially like the second one.
