At the moment we are still experimenting, because some settings are not resulting in what we want to achieve. For example all linked images are saved in the cache of our server and take therfore the same space as if you would upload them directly to our server. We try to find a better setting for this.

Thankfully, Flickr provides a range of image sizes in the BBCode share links so it's easy to select a different size, which means I don't need to downsize the original image. I'm happy with this as a solution.
