Movement within the Knot Flock

On the ground at Snettisham, Norfolk, England, ripples of movement pulse through the flock of tens of thousands waiting for the tide to lower and expose the mud of the Wash in eastern England

And when they are ready to go back to feeding,........... they explode into the air.
