Thank you John. The ISO value is not very high, so I think the grainy look comes entirely from the snow. I was pretty comfortable when I made this picture from my window. The snow soon disapeared. Good luck for your homework .I can feel it! I like the effect with the higher ISO and the way you processed the image. NICE. Did the snow accumulate and will it stay for a little while? Or has it melted already? For today... I do not have any decent material on-hand at the moment (to post)... so I may have to go out and try to get a respectable shot... if I can... or use what I have (which is kind of bland).
Thanks for the explanation. I did not know one could deduce from the color of this boat that it was operated by Nissan.48/52: I will be away from the computer for the rest of the day and I was unable to carve-out any time today for camera "homework" -- so, with today being the day, I will have to post "what I have" -- the only shot I've taken this past week. Plus, we had a moderate wind-storm mid-week (last week) that caused a 3-day power outage (fallen trees, damaged transmission lines)... so that also put me behind work-wise. Hence, less time available for exploring with the camera. Anyway, I looked out the window and saw the ship being lit nicely by the sun (last Saturday the 23rd of November). Grabbed the camera, and took a picture. There are a couple of these ro-ro "car carriers" passing by each week. This one was built in 2007 and if you are familiar with these things, you can tell by the color scheme that it is being operated for Nissan. Capacity is 3,200 vehicles. Taken with the 200-500. There are some atmospheric effects due to the subject distance (approx. 2 miles; or ~3 km) and I am shooting just above the water level (temperature differences).
